Symptoms

The Microsoft Exchange Information Store service randomly stops responding on a computer that is running Microsoft Exchange Server 2007. Additionally, the following event is logged in the event log:

Description:
Database resource failure error 0xfffffc0b occurred in function JTAB_BASE::EcDelete while accessing the database "<storage group\mailbox storage>".

Cause

This issue occurs because the table cursor leaks when a transaction is rolled back on to the server. When a table has to be closed, the table may be postponed to be closed in order to reuse the table later. However, when this table is postponed to be closed and a transaction is rolled back afterward, the table cursor is leaked.
