Older versions of the Yahoo! Toolbar may cause Internet Explorer to crash

Resolution

To resolve this issue, Yahoo! and Microsoft recommend that you uninstall and then reinstall the Yahoo! Toolbar. To do this, click your operating system in this article, and then follow the steps: 

Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 and Windows Vista

In Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, and Windows Vista, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Under Programs, click Uninstall a program.

  3. Click Yahoo! Toolbar, and then click Uninstall.

  4. In the Yahoo! Toolbar Uninstall window, click Yes .

  5. Close Uninstall a program, and then restart Internet Explorer to make sure that the issue is resolved.
  6. To reinstall the Yahoo! Toolbar to the latest version, visit http://us.toolbar.yahoo.com/ , click Download Now, and then follow the steps to download and install Yahoo! Toolbar.

Windows XP


  1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Add or Remove Programs.

  3. Click Yahoo! Toolbar, and then click Remove.

  4. Follow any confirmation prompts.
  5. Close Add or Remove Programs and then restart Internet Explorer to make sure that the issue is resolved.
  6. To re-install the Yahoo! Toolbar to the latest version, visit http://us.toolbar.yahoo.com/ , click Download Now, and then follow the steps to download and install Yahoo! Toobar.
