FIX: The DateModified property of a catalog product is not updated when you update the category associations for the product in Commerce Server 2007 or in Commerce Server 2009

View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

When you update the category associations for a product in Microsoft Commerce Server 2009 or in Microsoft Commerce Server 2007, the DateModified property of the product is not updated.

This problem occurs when all the following conditions are true:
  • You remove or add a product's category association by editing the Product Associations page for a category in Commerce Server Catalog Manager.
  • The product has more than two category associations before you remove the existing category association or after you add the new category association.

For example, this problem occurs in the following scenario:
  • You assign a product to three parent categories on the Category Associations page in Catalog Manager.
  • You open the category properties of one of the associated categories and then remove the product on the Product Associations page.

Note The DateModified property is also known as the LastModifed column in the CatalogName_CatalogProducts table in the catalog database.
