To resolve this problem yourself, add a string value that is named PreloadFontFile and that has a string value of "meiryo.ttc" to the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
To add this string value, follow these steps:
- Click Start, type regedit in the Start Search box, and then double-click regedit in the Programs list.
- Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
- On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click String Value.
- Type PreloadFontFile for the name of the string value, and then press Enter.
- Right-click PreloadFontFile, and then click Modify.
- In the Value data box, type meiryo.ttc, and then click OK.
- If you are running an x64-based or IA-64-based computer, repeat steps 3 through 6 for the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
- Exit Registry Editor, and then restart the computer.
Note This solution can affect the system restart performance if there are a many fonts that are installed on the system.
