Symptoms

Assume that your mailbox language is set to German on a Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 server that has the mailbox server role installed. In this situation, the Microsoft Full-Text Engine Filter Daemon (Msftefd.exe) process constantly consumes up to 100 percent of CPU resources. This behavior may affect client access and message delivery.

This issue occurs when the Nls400.dll driver performs linguistic analysis on a changed or on a new message size of several megabytes before the message is indexed.
