INTRODUCTION

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • The ViewCtl.Selection Selection object is broken in the Outlook 2010 conversation view.

  • You still receive modification notifications in Outlook 2010 even though you set the EnableConflictLogging registry key in the policies hive.

  • A user tries to move an item from the most recently used (MRU) list in the ribbon to the root of a store in Outlook 2010. In this situation, the operation fails and the user receives the following error message:
    The folder is not available.

  • When you have a form that does not implement the IRenItem private interface in Outlook 2010, you cannot compose the form.

  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You have a computer that has Outlook 2010 installed in the Arabic version or Hebrew version.
    • You open an item that contains an attachment in Outlook 2010.

In this scenario, the icon of the attachment that represents the file type of the attachment is flipped and appears in reverse. Any texts or logos in the icon appear incorrect. This includes third-party logos.

  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You have a form that contains a script in Outlook 2010.
    • The script contains more than 4096 characters.

In this scenario, every 4096th character in the form is missed.

Note This problem occurs because Outlook 2010 uses an incorrect API for converting wide characters to ANSI characters.

  • Certain recurring meeting requests or recurring appointments are not displayed in Outlook 2010.

  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You add a user into the contact list from the global address list (GAL) in Outlook 2010.
    • You create a meeting request that contains a meeting workspace.
    • You add the user to the meeting request.

In this scenario, the user is not added to the meeting workspace of the meeting request in Microsoft SharePoint. Additionally, you receive the following error message:
You are currently working with Outlook offline. To update the attendees in the Meeting Workspace, you must have a local copy of the Address Book installed. Either download the Address Book with the Full details option selected, and then send the meeting update or use Outlook online.
  • Consider the following scenario:
    • Computer A has Windows XP installed with Outlook 2003.
    • Computer B has Windows 7 installed with Outlook 2010.
    • You migrate your Outlook profile configured in cached mode from computer A to computer B by using the Windows User State Migration Tool (USMT).
    • You start Outlook 2010 for the first time after your profile was migrated by using USMT.

In this scenario, you receive one of the following Outlook error messages:
Cannot open your default e-mail folders. The attempt to logon to Microsoft Exchange has failed.

Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window. The set of folders cannot be opened. The attempt to log on to Microsoft Exchange has failed.

  • You open Outlook 2010 on a computer that has Microsoft Dynamics CRM for Microsoft Office Outlook installed. In this situation, you find that the sort order of the CRM message store is incorrect based on the design.

  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You share your calendar with a user in Outlook 2010.
    • You create a meeting request and add the user as an attendee.
    • The user opens the meeting request from the scheduling assistant.

In this scenario, the user cannot open the meeting request. Additionally, the user receive the following error message:
    Cannot open this item.
  • 2458423 The message classification feature is unavailable when you disable the "Do Not Forward" option in Outlook 2010
