Symptoms

When you use Microsoft FrontPage Help and then you open and use Help in another Office program, you may receive one of the following error messages:

In Windows 95/98:
This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. If the problem persists, contact the program vendor.
MSO Help caused an invalid page fault in module HHCTRL.OCX at 0137:5d3336cl.
In Windows NT:
An application error has occurred and an error log is being generated.
Exception access violation(0xc000005),Address 0x5d3336c1

Cause

FrontPage writes the setting "Full Text Search = Yes" in the following three files:
  • vbafp4.hhp
  • vbafpom4.hhp
  • frontpg.hhp
This setting should be set to "Full Text Search = No".

Resolution

To prevent this error from occurring, close Help in FrontPage before you open and use Help in another application.

This problem does not occur if your Office Applications have the Office Assistant enabled. To activate the Office Assistant, click Show Office Assistant on the Help menu.
