Introduction

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You create a stack chart in an Excel workbook by using Office Excel 2003.
    • You adjust the chart position, which causes the position of the legends to change.
    • You save the workbook in Office Excel 2003.
    • You open the workbook in Office Excel 2007.

In this scenario, the order of the legends may be reversed.

  • On a computer that is running Office Excel 2007, you click a hyperlink that links to an Office Excel workbook (.xlsx format). In this situation, the Office Excel 2007 window and the workbook window are not maximized when the workbook is opened.

  • In Office Excel 2007, if an INDIRECT() function contains an array formula that uses the unary operator - or %, Office Excel 2007 does not calculate the formula correctly. This issue may also occur on other volatile functions such as RAND() and RANDBETWEEN().

  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You add a hierarchy to anOnline Analytical Processing(OLAP) Pivot Table in an Office Excel workbook. Then, you apply a filter to the Pivot Table.
    • You remove the hierarchy from the Pivot Table. Then, you add another hierarchyto the Pivot Table and hide one of its levels.
    • You save and close the workbook.
    • You try to open the workbook by using Office Excel 2007.

In this scenario, Office Excel 2007 crashes.

  • Consider the following scenario:
    • In an Office Excel 2007 workbook that contains a chart, you change the zoom value to a value other than 100%.
    • You select the cell range that intersects the chart.
    • You click the Paste drop-down menu, you select As Picture, and then you click Copy as Picture.
    • On the Copy Picture dialog box, you select As shown when printed.
    • You paste the chart.

In this scenario, the position and the size of the pasted chart are incorrect.

  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You install the hotfix package that is described in Microsoft Knowledge Base article 981046 on a computer that is running Office Excel 2007.
    • You have an Office Excel workbook in the Excel 97- Excel 2003 Binary format (BIFF8).
    • The workbook contains a chart that has the vary colors option enabled.
    • A data point that uses an exceptional formatting is not on the chart.
    • You open the workbook by using Office Excel 2007.

In this scenario, the colors in the chart may be incorrect.

  • When you import a text file in Office Excel 2007, certain values are not recognized as the numeric value. This issue occurs if the following conditions are true:
    • The decimal separator in the text file is different from the decimal separator that is defined in the Regional Settings.
    • The value is smaller than one.
    • The value does not have a leading 0.

  • Consider the following scenario:
    • In Office Excel 2007, you hide more than half of the columns in the worksheet. Additionally, you also hide the last column of the worksheet.
    • You copy data from another worksheet that is opened in another instance of Office Excel 2007.
    • You paste the data into the worksheet that has hidden columns.

In this scenario, hidden column are visible unexpectedly.

  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You have two Office Excel workbooks (workbook A and workbook B) that are stored on network share.
    • You open workbook A by using Office Excel 2007.
    • You double-click a cell that links to a cell in workbook B.
    • Office Excel 2007 opens workbook B.

In this scenario, the cell in workbook B that links to workbook A is not selected.

  • Consider the following scenario:
    • In Office Excel 2007, you open an Office Excel 5.0/95 workbook ( .xls format) that contains a chart. The source data of the chart is in an external text file.
    • You save the workbook in .xlsx format. Then you close Office Excel 2007.
    • You move the .xlsx workbook to another location.
    • You open the .xlsx workbook by using Office Excel 2007.

In this scenario, the chart does not display.

  • After you right-click a Microsoft Graph Chart object and select Open from Chart Object in PowerPoint 2007, the size of the graph chart reduces.
