Running Change_server.sh Does Not Remove Fpcount.exe

Symptoms

When you configure an Apache server and install the FrontPage Server Extensions, you will need to patch the server in order to create subwebs from the FrontPage client. After you run Change_server.sh, the _vti_bin folders still contain the Fpcount.exe file. This file is no longer needed in each Web because the patched server uses a centralized copy in the /Usr/Local/Frontpage/Version4.0 directory.

Resolution

To resolve this problem, delete the extra files after you patch the server. These files are no longer needed and perform no function when the server is patched.

Status

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the FrontPage 2000 Server Extensions.
