Symptoms

If you run Oracle8 on the same computer as the FrontPage Server Extensions, you may find that none of the FrontPage database integrations work. When you attempt to use a FrontPage data connection in a Web hosted from a server that contains Oracle8 Server software, ADO/ODBC returns the following error:
Failed to create ADORecordset object.

Cause

Some of the ADO components on the Web server are broken after the Oracle installation.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, place the Oracle database on a different computer than the Web Server running the FrontPage Server Extensions.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the FrontPage 2000 Server Extensions.
