An error message unexpectedly appears after you create a mirrored volume on a computer that is running Windows Server 2008 or Windows Vista: "Stop 0x0000000a IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL"

After you create a mirrored volume on a computer that is running Windows Server 2008 or Windows Vista, you unexpectedly receive the following Stop error message:Note The parameters of the error message depend on the configuration of the computer.

This problem occurs because of a race condition in the volume manager.

A mirrored volume is also known as RAID-1 volume. The mirrored volume is a set of two equal-sized partitions that are exact duplicates. The two partitions are located on two separate disks. When the data is written to a mirrored volume, the data is written to both partitions.
