Only the tracing information of the last user is logged when you configure Exchange Server 2007 to trace multiple users at the same time

In Microsoft Exchange Server 2007, you can trace multiple users at the same time by adding the UserDN attribute for these users in the EnabledTraces.config file. However, even you configure multiple users in the .config file, only the tracing information of the last user is logged.

Note By default, the EnabledTraces.config file is in drive C.

To resolve this problem, install Update Rollup 8 for Exchange 2007 Service Pack 1. For more information about Update Rollup 8 for Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 1, see the following Exchange Help topic: For more information about how to install the latest Exchange service pack or update rollup, see the following Exchange Help topic:After you apply this fix, you can trace multiple users by adding a "FilteredTracing:Yes" line in the configuration file. You must add the UserDN attribute for each user who you want to trace.

The following is an example of the EnabledTraces.config file:Note You can trace up to 10 users at the same time without causing a significant impact on the store performance. If you want to trace more than 10 users at the same time, do not use filtered tracing.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.

To enable filtered tracing, follow these steps:

1. Open the Extra.exe file.
2. Click Select a task, and then click Trace Control.
3. Click Set manual trace tags, and then click Show mailbox trace filtering options.
4. Set the UserDN attribute for the user that you want.

Note These steps describe how to set only one user for filtered tracing.
