Summary

This security update resolves vulnerabilities in Microsoft Office that could allow remote code execution if an attacker convinces a user to open or preview a specially crafted Microsoft Word file in an affected version of Office.

Nonsecurity-related fixes that are included in this security update

This security update also fixes the following issues:
  • A problem exists in the object model, where .Parent.Parent.Parent on an item in the Hyperlinks collection will return Nothing instead of the TextFrame object that contains the hyperlink. With this fix, you can traverse from the item in the Hyperlinks collection to the Shape that contains it by using .Parent.Parent.Parent.Parent.
