Folder Assistant rule does not work correctly in an Exchange Server 2013 environment

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You have a mail-enabled public folder in a Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 environment.
  • You add a rule for the public folder by using Folder Assistant in Microsoft Outlook. 
  • You have the Sent directly to or Copied (Cc) to check box selected in the rule.
In this scenario, the Folder Assistant rule does not work as expected.

Cause

This issue occurs because the Folder Assistant rule incorrectly uses the SMTP address of the pubic folder mailbox database instead of using the email address.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, install the following cumulative update:
2961810 Cumulative Update 6 for Exchange Server 2013
