FIX: The SQL Service crashes with an EXCEPTION_INVALID_CRT_PARAMETER exception when data is returned from the SQL Stored procedure call sp_columns_ex in a Host Integration Server 2009 environment

Symptoms

In a Microsoft Host Integration Server 2009 environment, you notice the following exception when the SQL Service crashes:
EXCEPTION_INVALID_CRT_PARAMETER
This behavior occurs when data is returned from the following SQL Stored procedure call:
sp_columns_ex

Cause

This problem occurs when you query a DB2 table that includes a comment field that is longer than 127 characters.

Resolution

The hotfix that resolves this issue is included in cumulative update package 1 for Host Integration Server 2009.
