Introduction

Issue that this hotfix package fixes

Consider the following scenario:
  • In a Microsoft Office Access 2007 database, you use the Get External Data Text File wizard to import data from a text file to a linked table.
  • You use the Get External Data Text File wizard to try to append a copy of the records that are in a text file to the linked table.
In this scenario, you receive the following error message:

Invalid argument

Additionally, you receive the following error message after you receive the first error message:

An error occurred trying to import file 'file path\name'. The file was not imported.

Note Even though you receive these error messages, the records are actually imported. You have to click Cancel in the Get External Data Text File wizard to exit the wizard. Otherwise, the records are appended again every time that the Finish button is clicked.
