View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

Microsoft Word clips the text when the following conditions are true:
  • Certain OpenType fonts are used with stylistic sets.
  • The stylistic sets have lines that extend outside the standard character block.
  • The lines are in a paragraph.
This issue occurs because Word draws each line of a paragraph as if the line had a white background.

Workaround

To work around this issue, increase the line spacing for the paragraph.

For paragraphs with one line of text, adjust the point line spacing. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Right-click the line of text, and then click Paragraph.
  2. In the Paragraph dialog box, under the Indents and Spacing tab, increase the value in the Before box or in the After box under Spacing.
  3. Click OK.
For paragraphs with several lines, adjust the overall spacing. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Right-click the lines of text, and then click Paragraph.
  2. In the Paragraph dialog box, under the Indents and Spacing tab, increase the value in the Line spacing box under Spacing.
  3. Click OK.
