If PowerPivot exists in both the beta version of a product and in the release version of another product, PowerPivot does not work

Symptoms

You have the beta version of one or more of the following products installed:
  • Microsoft PowerPivot for Microsoft Excel 2010
  • Microsoft Excel 2010
  • Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010
  • SQL Server 2008 R2 Reporting Services Add-in for Microsoft SharePoint Technologies 2010
You have the release version of other products installed. In this situation, PowerPivot and its related functionality does not work. For example, you have the following products installed:
  • Beta version of PowerPivot for Microsoft Excel 2010
  • Release version of Excel 2010
In this situation, PowerPivot is not�available in Excel 2010.

Cause

This problem occurs because the beta versions of these products�are incompatible with the release versions.�
