"Error initializing Safe control" in the ULS log when you use an Office 2010 Web App on a SharePoint server farm

Symptoms

When you try to perform an operation with a Microsoft Office 2010 Web App, you encounter an error. This error includes a correlation ID number. For example, when you view the Unified Logging Service (ULS) log, you find an error that resembles the following:

Cause

This issue occurs when a network service runs an app pool on a Microsoft SharePoint server farm.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, configure the SharePoint server farm so that a managed account is running all essential app pools.
