"The query could not be processed" error message when you try to ungroup a group after you create a filter field in an Access 2010 database

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You open a database that contains a form. The form has a pivot table view.
  • You drag a field from the field list into the drop area of the filter fields.
  • You select a group from the fields in the row. Then, you select the complete row.
  • On the Design tab, you click Ungroup.
In this scenario, you receive the following error message:
The query could not be processed:
The heirarchy'[{GUID_Heirarchy}]' was not found in the cube when the string, [String_name].[{GUID_String}] was parsed

Workaround

To work around this problem, do not create a new filter field before you ungroup a row group in a pivot table view.
