Symptoms

You use Windows Internet Explorer 8 to view a webpage that contains a frameset inside an IFRAME element. When you click Print to print the webpage or when you click Print Preview to preview the layout, Internet Explorer 8 crashes.

Note This issue occurs when you view a webpage in the Internet Explorer 8 Standards mode.

Cause

This issue occurs because Internet Explorer 8 encounters an error when it handles a frameset inside an IFRAME element.

Workaround

To work around this issue, enable Compatibility View for the affected webpage. The Compatibility View option is located on the Tools menu in Internet Explorer 8.
