Arabic translations in the month of July may be incorrect in the Windows calendar in Windows 7 or in Windows Server 2008 R2

View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario. You have a computer that is running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2. You are using an Arabic version of the Windows calendar, and this version uses the Gregorian calendar system. However, some terms that are used for the seventh month (July) may not be the correct terms for some regions.
This issue still occurs after you select an Arabic locale that has the Gregorian Arabic-translated calendar as the default calendar.

  • GDR service branches contain only those fixes that are widely released to address widespread, extremely important issues. LDR service branches contain hotfixes in addition to widely released fixes.
  • The MANIFEST files (.manifest) and the MUM files (.mum) that are installed for each environment are listed separately in the "Additional file information for Windows Server 2008 R2 and for Windows 7" section. MUM and MANIFEST files, and the associated security catalog (.cat) files, are extremely important to maintain the state of the updated components. The security catalog files, for which the attributes are not listed, are signed with a Microsoft digital signature.
