Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You install Internet Information Services (IIS) 7.5 on a server that is running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2.
  • You host some files on an IIS 7.5 Web site on this server.
  • You try to download a file that is larger than 2 megabytes (MB) from the server to another computer through a slow network connection.
In this scenario, the file download is not completed.

Cause

This issue occurs because the idle connection time-out for the HTTP service expires prematurely. This causes the network connection to disconnect unexpectedly.
