You cannot run a task that is associated with a business rule of Authorization Manager in Windows Server 2008

View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You install an Authorization Manager (AzMan)-based application on a computer that is running Windows Server 2008.
  • You associate a business rule to a task in the authorization store.
  • There are some roles in a role list that must be applied to the task.
  • You try to run the task by using a user account that belongs to an applied role that is not the first role in the role list.
In this scenario, the AccessCheck function returns False. Therefore, you cannot run the task.

Note If you remove the business rule from the task, the user account can run the task successfully.

Cause

The issue occurs because the AccessCheck function checks only the first role and ignores the other roles in the role list.
