View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario. You change a field name in a published Microsoft Access 2010 database. Then, you synchronize the changes with the server copy of the database. Next, you try to view a report that is linked to the database. Finally, you refresh this report page. In this scenario, you receive the following error message:
An error occurred during client rendering.
An error occurred during local report processing.
An error has occurred during report processing.
Query execution failed for dataset 'Dataset_name'.
Cannot execute query 'Report_query_name' because it failed to compile.

Cause

This issue occurs because the published report file (.rdl) contains references to the previous field name in the published Access 2010 database. Synchronizing changes that were made to the database to the server copy does not update field references in the previously published report file.

Workaround

To work around this issue, you have to republish the report that is linked to the database that is linked to the server.
