Issues that this hotfix package fixes
- Consider the following scenario:
- In an Excel worksheet, the data range for a chart is in the non-ascending order.
- The data series in the chart have the custom error bar.
- You change the horizontal axis to a date axis.
In this scenario, the error bar values are drawn to the wrong data points in the chart. - In Excel 2007, when you try to use the programming method to retrieve a value in a surface chart, you receive the following error message:
System Error &H80010108 (-2147417848). The object invoked has disconnected from its clients.
- In an Excel worksheet, a Scatter chart contains data markers. You set the "Marker Type" to "Built-in" and you use a picture or a texture to fill the markers. In this case, when you use print preview to view the Excel worksheet and you try to print the worksheet in black-and-white, the data markers are still in color unexpectedly.
- An Area chart that use date axis is unreadable in Excel 2007 when the date range for the chart contains an empty cell.
- In an Excel worksheet, a stacked Area chart contains two data series and a secondary axis. In this case, when you set the minimum value for the horizontal axis to a fixed value, the second data series is plotted unexpectedly outside the plot area.
- In Excel 2007, you customize the formatting of a data point in a stacked chart. When you show the series lines in the chart, the data point disappears unexpectedly.
- When you paste an Excel chart object as a link in Word 2007, PowerPoint 2007 or OneNote 2007, some chart content displayed outside the plot area.
This problem occurs when the following conditions are true:- You applied the hotfix package that is discussed Microsoft Knowledge Base (KB) article 972559.
- The value of the AliasedDMToMetafilePlus registry entry was set to 1 under the following registry subkey:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Common\Charting
- You modify any of the axis limits to be less than the ture data range for the chart
- The tooltip displays incorrect information for a data point in a chart that is in Excel 2007.
- You delete a data series in a stacked chart that is in an Excel 2003 file. When you reopen the Excel 2003 file in Excel 2007, the legend entry for the deleted data series still appears in a stacked chart.
- The connector between two shapes is disconnected when one of these shapes is grouped with a third shape and all these shapes are moved together.
- In an Office file, you insert a pyramid SmartArt graphic and you resize one of the segments in the pyramid. When you save and reopen the file, the resized pyramid segment is displayed incorrectly as a triangle.
- The dates are shown incorrectly in the date axis of a chart.
- You install the 2007 Office Cumulative Update for December 2009 that is discussed in KB article 978223. You print an Office file by using a PostScript printer. However, the text and the graphics in the file are printed incorrectly in the print output.
- In Excel 2007 SP2, you cannot see text in a Text Box when the text box contains multiple columns.
- Consider the following scenario:
- There is a stacked Area chart in an Excel 2007 worksheet.
- You select the Maximum axis value option under the Horizontal axis crosses section in the Format Axis dialog box.
Note This is to specify that the horizontal axis crosses the vertical axis at the highest value on the axis.
In this scenario, the labels for the horizontal axis are moved to the opposite side of the chart. However, the area is unexpectedly filled from the bottom to the top of the chart. - In an Excel 2007 workbook, there is a Text Box that contains spaces. When you print or print preview the workbook, the amount of pages that is printeddiffers from the amount of pages when you view the workbook in the Page Break Preview.
This problem occurs when one of the following conditions is true:- You are running the Japanese version of Excel 2007.
- You are running the English version of Excel 2007, and you set Japanese as the primary editing language.
- You use Excel 2007 to open an Excel chart object that is created in Excel 2003. When you edit the chart in Excel 2007, the size of the chart becomes larger unexpectedly.
- In an Office PowerPoint presentation slide, an Office Excel chart is inserted as an embedded object. When you double-click the chart to open it, you receive the following error message:
The server application, source file, or item can't be found, or returned an unknown error. You may need to reinstall the server application.
Additionally, both Excel 2007 and PowerPoint 2007 stop responding. - If multiple presentations that contain charts are used at the same time, PowerPoint 2007 may crash.
- If you change the fill color of a PivotChart in a chart template in Excel 2007 and then apply this template to a new PivotChart, the fill color is lost and the new PivotChart uses the automatic setting for the fill color.
Note This issue occurs after the 2007 Microsoft Office Suite Service Pack 2 is installed.
