Certain grouped objects are pasted as a picture in Excel 2010

Symptoms

You have the following objects together with other objects in a group�in a Microsoft Excel 2010 workbook:
  • OLE objects
  • ActiveX controls
  • Form controls
When you copy and then paste the grouped objects into another instance of Excel 2010, the grouped objects are pasted as a picture. Therefore, the functionalities of the grouped objects are lost.

Workaround

To work around this problem, use one of the following methods:
  • Copy the grouped objects to another workbook in the same instance of Excel 2010.
  • Ungroup the objects and then copy and paste the objects individually.
