Connection points for shapes in a diagram are not displayed in Visio 2010

Symptoms

When you open a diagram such as a flowchart diagram in Microsoft Visio 2010, connection points for the shapes are not displayed.

Note This behavior occurs even though the Connection Points check box is selected in the Visual Aids group on the View tab.

Cause

This behavior is by design in Visio 2010. This behavior helps reduce the visual clutter that occurs when the connection points are visible, as they were in earlier versions of Visio.
