The "Allow the printing of background colors and images" Group Policy setting does not take effect on a computer that has Internet Explorer 8 installed

You have a computer that has Windows Internet Explorer 8 installed. On this computer, you configure the Allow the printing of background colors and images Group Policy setting for Internet Explorer. You can find this setting in the following directory:Note This Group Policy setting specifies whether to print background colors and images when you print a Web page in Internet Explorer.

However, this Group Policy does not take effect.

For example, assume that you have this setting disabled. Then, on the File menu in Internet Explorer 8, you click Page Setup, and then you click to select the Print Background Colors and Images check box. In this scenario, you can still print background colors and images on a Web page.

Note The issue also occurs if you configure the Print background colors and images setting on the Advanced tab in the Internet Options dialog box.
