Changing the start time of a recurring meeting series in Exchange Server 2007 by using OWA does not remove exceptions

Symptoms

When you change the start time of a recurring meeting series in Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 by using Outlook Web Access (OWA), the exceptions for individual meetings in the series are not removed.

Note When you change the start time of a recurring meeting series by using Outlook 2007, the exceptions to individual meetings are removed. Also, the complete recurring series are sent to all meeting participants. Then, if individual participants cannot attend specific meetings in the series, they can be removed from those specific meetings by re-creating the exception.

Resolution

This problem is fixed in Exchange Server 2010's Outlook Web App. If a recurring meeting series is changed by using Outlook Web App, the exceptions for specific meetings are removed. Additionally, the complete recurring meeting series is sent to all meeting participants.
