A computer that is running Windows Server 2008 R2 or Windows 7 cannot come out of quarantine if you install the System Center Configuration Manager System health agent on the computer

View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You install the System Center Configuration Manager System health agent on a computer that is running Windows Server 2008 R2 or Windows 7.
  • You make a virtual private network (VPN) connection from this computer to a Routing and Remote Access Service (RRAS) server that has Network Access Protection (NAP) enabled.
  • The System Center Configuration Manager NAP policies force the computer into quarantine.

In this scenario, the computer cannot come out of quarantine. If you use the Napstat.exe utility to view the status of your computer, the utility indicates that the System Center Configuration Manager System health agent cannot complete its remediation. Additionally, you notice remediation does not continue.

Important Windows 7 hotfixes and Windows Server 2008 R2 hotfixes are included in the same packages. However, hotfixes on the Hotfix Request page are listed under both operating systems. To request the hotfix package that applies to one or both operating systems, select the hotfix that is listed under "Windows 7/Windows Server 2008 R2" on the page.
