Cause

This issue occurs because of an error in Windows Internet Explorer.

In InfoPath 2007, users create forms by using Trident as the designer platform. However, Trident has the following issues.

Note Trident is the name of the layout engine for Internet Explorer.
  • The OBJECT element in Trident has its own atom table. This causes the typical attribute array clone not to work. Trident cannot clone an array unless the atom table is set up.
  • The PARAM elements of an object cannot be copied.
These Trident issues prevent the copy and paste function to work correctly.
