Symptoms

When you migrate certain Internet Authentication Service (IAS) configurations on a 32-bit or 64-bit version of Windows Server 2003 to Network Policy Server (NPS) on Windows Server 2008 R2, the Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP) method is configured incorrectly. However, the import procedure seems to complete successfully.

Resolution

To fix this problem, follow these steps:
  1. After you run the migration utility, open the Ias.txt file by using a text editor, such as Wordpad.
  2. Find the following text:
    =================================================
    SystemInfo
    =================================================
    0
    16
    515
  3. Replace the text with:
    =================================================
    SystemInfo
    =================================================
    0000000009
    16
    515
  4. Save and import the changed file.
