FIX: Site terms are imported incorrectly into the Commerce Server Data Warehouse

View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

Considering the following scenario:
  • You have a computer that is running Microsoft Commerce Server 2007 Service Pack 2 (SP2) or Microsoft Commerce Server 2009.
  • You assign site terms to some profile properties for a Commerce Server site.
  • You try to import the profile data of this Commerce Server site into the Commerce Server Data Warehouse.
In this scenario, Commerce Server does not correctly import the site terms into the Data Warehouse.

Note To specify that a profile property should be imported into the Data Warehouse, you must set the DWMemberName custom attribute and mark the Exported advanced attribute for the profile property. For more information about how to do this, refer to the "More information" section.

Cause

This problem occurs because of an error in the logic of the Profiles data import Data Transformation Services (DTS) task. This logic decides how the DTS task imports the site terms.

More information

Because there are no built-in reports that use the site terms data, you have to write your own report to view the usage of these site terms. If the column name that is specified by the DWMemberName custom attribute does not exist in the RegisteredUser table, a row is inserted into the LinkSiteTermRegisteredUserRel table. This LinkSiteTermRegisteredUserRel table relates a row in the RegisteredUser table to the actual site term value.

For more information about how to select profile properties for import into the Data Warehouse, visit the following Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN) Web site: For more information about site terms, visit the following MSDN Web site: For more information about site terms in a Data Warehouse, visit the following MSDN Web site: For more information about how to create a custom Data Warehouse report, visit the following Microsoft Website:
