Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You have an Active Directory forest with multiple domain trees.
  • You install Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server 2006 on a server that is joined to one of the trees.
  • In ISA Server 2006, you configure a Web publishing rule to use Forms-Based authentication. Then you enable the users to change their passwords.
  • A user tries to use an account in a different domain tree (not the domain tree where ISA Server 2006 is installed) to change his password.
In this scenario, the user cannot change the password.
