The virtual machines on a Hyper-V server are not reported to the Connection Broker after you update a Windows Server 2008 R2 operating system that has the Hyper-V server role installed

Symptoms

You update a Windows Server 2008 R2 operating system that has the Hyper-V server role installed and that was included in a Remote Desktop virtualization server list. After you do this, none of the virtual machines on the Hyper-V server are reported to the Connection Broker.

Cause

During the upgrade, the Connection Broker settings for the Remote Desktop virtualization agent are deleted on the Hyper-V Server.

Workaround

To work around this issue, an administrator has to add Remote Desktop virtualization servers to the Connection Broker after the upgrade.
