August 2009 cumulative daylight saving time (DST) update for Exchange 2003 SP2

A cumulative update for daylight saving time (DST) changes in several countries is now available for computers that are running Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Service Pack 2 (SP2).

Update information

The update that is described in this article updates time zone data to account for changes in the time zones that are listed in this article. This cumulative update also addresses daylight saving time (DST) changes in several other countries that were updated in previous cumulative updates. We recommend that you install the latest DST updates for your operating system.

Time zones that are updated
Coordinated Universal Time
Introduces the new UTC Time Zone without DST after the prior cumulative time zone update was created (December 2008).

Morocco Standard Time
Adjusts the DST start and end dates for the Morocco time zone for changes after the prior cumulative time zone update was created (December 2008).

Kamchatka Standard Time
Adds a new time zone for the Kamchatka time zone which introduces DST start dates and end dates.

Tonga Standard Time
Changes the display name of this time zone from (GMT+13:00) Tonga, Nuku'alofa to (GMT+13:00) Nuku'alofa.

Yakutsk Standard Time
Adds a new time zone for the Yakutsk time zone which introduces DST start dates and end dates.

Paraguay Standard Time
Adds a new time zone for the Asuncion time zone which introduces DST start dates and end dates.

SA Eastern Standard Time
Changes the display name of this time zone from (GMT-03:00) Georgetown to (GMT-03:00) Cayenne.

SA Western Standard Time
Changes the display name for this time zone from(GMT-04:00) La Paz to (GMT-04:00) Georgetown, La Paz, San Juan.

Fiji Standard Time
Changes the display name of this time zone from (GMT+12:00) Fiji Islands, Kamchatka, Marshall Is. to (GMT+12:00) Fiji, Marshall Is..

Greenland Standard Time
Adjusts the DST start and end dates for the Greenland time zone.

Pakistan Standard Time
Adjusts the DST start and end dates for the Pakistan time zone for changes after the prior cumulative time zone update was created (December 2008).

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft. However, it is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Exchange Server 2003 service pack that contains this hotfix.

Restart requirement

You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this hotfix. However,the Exchange Information Store service and all dependent services are restarted.
