Consider the following scenario:
- You have the Failover Clustering feature installed on a computer that is running Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2 (SP2).
- You install an application on this failover cluster node. The database of the application is saved on a shared disk.
- You try to perform an Automated System Recovery backup of the system state by using the Wbadmin.exe command-line tool on the computer.
Note There is no option to retrieve only the system state backup from the Windows Server Backup management console on Windows Server 2008. Therefore, run the wbadmin command to back up only the system state. To do this, open a command prompt by using an administrator account, type the following command, and then press Enter:wbadmin.exe start systemstatebackup -backuptarget:letterdrive
- Windows Internet Name Service (WINS)
- Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) Server service
- Certification authority (CA) role service
