Network bindings are incorrect after you change a network adapter's configuration. For example, this can occur after you enable or disable a network adapter, or after you install or remove the driver for a network adapter. In some cases, all transports and filters are bound to each available miniport at the same time.

To prevent this problem, apply this hotfix before you install any network adapter drivers.

Hotfix information

Important Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 hotfixes are included in the same packages. However, only one of these products may be listed on the �Hotfix Request� page. To request the hotfix package that applies to both Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008, just select the product that is listed on the page.

Prerequisites

To apply this hotfix on a Windows Vista-based computer, you must have Windows Vista Service Pack 1 or Windows Vista Service Pack 2 installed on the computer.
