Symptoms

You install security update 956572 that is documented in the security bulletin MS09-012 on a computer that is running Windows Server 2003. After you install the security update, the applications that are on the computer and that use the Java virtual machine do not start. Cause

This issue occurs because the base address of the Advapi.dll module is changed to another location after the security update 956572 that is documented in the security bulletin MS09-012 is installed. This behavior causes the system to be unable to allocate a large amount of contiguous virtual memory.
