Error message in an Inquiry Window in Extender in Microsoft Dynamics GP: "Unknown Identifier XXXXXX"


SYMPTOMS

In an Extender Inquiry window Microsoft Dynamics GP, you receive the following error message:

Product: Extender
Script: GetWindowValue()
Error: Unknown Identifier 'XXXXXXXX'.
Execution Script:
inout anonymous field io_value; if isopen(form 'YYYYY') then io_value = 'XXXXX' of window 'YYYYYY' of form 'YYYYYY'; end if;


Note In this error message, "XXXX" is an Extender key, such as '"V Document Number," and "YYYY" is an Extender form, such as "IV_Transaction_Inquiry."

CAUSE

s issue occurs because there is no Additional Key field selected in the Options button.

RESOLUTION

Microsoft Dynamics GP 10.0

1. Click Tools , click Extender , and then click Extender .
2. In the Extender Object area, click Inquiry , and then click the Extender Inquiry window in which you are receiving the error.
3. In the Extender Inquiries window, click the Options button.
4. Click to select the Use Alternate Key box.
5. In the Alternate Keys section, select the first original field that appears.
6. Click the Edit Selected Key icon, the pencil icon.
7. From the Alternate Window drop-down list, select the alternate window that you are using.
8. From the Alternate Field drop-down list, select the alternate field that matches the original field.
9. Repeat these steps for any additional key fields that you are using.
10. Click Save .

Microsoft Dynamics GP 9.0 and Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains 8.0

1. Click Tools , click Extender , and then click Extender .
2. In the Extender Object area, click Inquiry , and then click the Extender Inquiry window in which you are receiving the error.
3. In the Extender Inquiries window, click the Options button.
4. Click to select the Use Alternate Key box.
5. Expand the Key Fields expansion button.
6. Click the drop-down arrow next to View .
7. Select the alternate window that you are using.
8. From the Extender window that you created, select the alternate field that matches the original field.
9. Repeat these steps for any additional key fields that you are using.
10. Click Save .
