The system performance of the server becomes severely decreased when you try to copy files from a server that is running Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008 through a network

When you try to copy files from a server that runs Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008 through network, the system performance of the server becomes severely degraded. In this scenario, the operating system consumes nearly 100 percent of physical memory for the system cache in Process Explorer.

Note The "Cached" value in Task Manager is not the same as the System Cache. This value includes standby pages, which are basically free, and is expected to grow until the "Free" value is at or near zero under heavy IO load.
