Some security events are not logged into the security event log on a computer that is running Windows Server 2008 or Windows Vista after you restart the computer

On a computer that is running Windows Server 2008 or Windows Vista, after you enable granular auditing for "User Account Management" by using the auditpol.exe tool, the granular auditing is not recorded after the computer is restarted. Additionally, some security events are logged in the security event log. However, after you restart the computer, these security events are not logged.

For example, you enable granular auditing for "User Account Management" by using the auditpol.exe tool, and then you create a user account. After you do this, a security event 4720 is logged in the security event log.

However, the system does not log security event 4720 after you restart the computer and create a user account again.

To resolve the issue, install the following hotfix on computers that are running Windows Server 2008 or Windows Vista.
