Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • If you point to the colored references while Excel 2003 is recalculating, Excel crashes.

    Note Colored references refer to the highlighted cells that are used as source data.
  • When you open some spreadsheets that are generated or exported from third-party software in Excel 2003 Service Pack 3 (SP3), you receive the following error message:
    File Error: Data may have been lost
