Symptom

On some new high-end servers with an HBA installed, the system�may crash�while resuming from hibernation.

Cause



This issue can occur in Windows Server 2003 when the Max Payload Size for the HBA is set to a value other than the default value.� This is usually done by the system BIOS.

When the HBA resumes from the low power state induced by transistioning to hibernation, the Max Payload Size returns to its default value.� Because the BIOS is expecting a different Max Payload Size value from the HBA, the system may crash.
