Stop 0x50 on a Microsoft Hyper-V Server 2008 or Windows Server 2008 system that has a virtual machine configured with a SCSI controller but no disks are attached

On Windows Server 2008 or Microsoft Hyper-V Server 2008, you may experience one of the following symptoms:

• The following stop error on a server that has the Hyper-V role installed:
  
  STOP 0x00000050 (0xfffffa8016df9000, 0x0000000000000000, 0xfffff80001a5b340, 0x0000000000000000).
  PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
  
  Note The parameters may vary.
• Hyper-V Virtual Machine Management service (VMMS) may it stop running unexpectedly due to Heap memory corruption.

This issue can occur if a Hyper-V virtual machine is configured with a SCSI controller but no disks are attached.

To prevent this issue from occurring, edit the virtual machines and remove any SCSI controllers which do not have disks attached.

This issue is addressed in Service Pack 2 for Windows Server 2008.
