View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario,
  • You use Microsoft BizTalk Accelerator for SWIFT 2.1, BizTalk Accelerator for SWIFT 2.3, BizTalk Accelerator for SWIFT 3.0, or BizTalk 2009 Accelerator for SWIFT to process messages together with Message Pack 2008.
  • You enable Business Rule Engine (BRE) validation on the SWIFT disassembler and have deployed validation policies for the MT 941 and MT 942 messages.
  • You receive a valid MT941 or MT942 message that contains the "VEF" currency.
In this scenario, you receive an error message that resembles the following:
<custom xml file>: error BEC2004: The 'NumberCurrencyAndAmount' element is invalid - The value '<value>' is invalid according to its datatype 'String' - The Pattern constraint failed. <MT94x.xsd>:error BEC2004: Validate Instance failed for schema MT942.xsd, file: <custom xml file>.

Cause

This problem occurs because of an error in the schema definition and BRE policies in the BizTalk Accelerator for SWIFT 2008 Message Pack. This error causes a problem in validating the MT941 and MT942 messages correctly.
