Symptoms



Using the 64-bit version of Diskpart.exe, you may be unable to import a foreign Dynamic Disk set.� The import command may fail with the following error:

Resolution



You can work around this issue with one of the following methods:
  • Use the Disk Management MMC snap-in to import the foreign disk.
  • Use the 32-bit version of Diskpart.exe.


Note:�To use the 32-bit version of Diskpart.exe, you will need to copy it to an alternate directory on your 64-bit server, and then run Diskpart directly from that directory.
