FIX: Performance of testing decreases after several hours when you run load tests by using team system load testing tools in Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 TFS

Symptoms

When you run load tests by using team system load testing tools in Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Team Foundation Server (TFS), the performance of testing decreases after several hours. The CPU utilization on the data tier server may stay at 100 percent. Additionally, the query times for work item-related operations increase significantly.

This problem occurs when the following conditions are true:
  • The load tests include the Version Control service and the Workitem Tracking service.
  • A high volume of commands is sent to the TFS server.
