Symptom



When you use the Group Policy Management Console (GPMC) to create a printer deployment Group Policy Object (GPO), the printer is not installed on Windows XP client computers by pushprinterconnections.exe.

Cause



This happens when the GUID for printer deployment is not added to the gPCUserExtensionNames or gPCMachineExtensionNames attribute.

Resolution



You have to add the GUID {CC13E3F3-D6D7-4A7C-A806-085502AA8281} manually to the attribute.

or use Printer Management Console to populate the GPO

To push printers to client computers, it is mandatory to do it using the Print Management Console.
